Virtual Hen Do Planning Tips and Hints

Posted on

Anyone who knows us understands that we LOVE a good party so we are really feeling it for brides at the minute who are having to reschedule their fantastic and beautifully planned Hen Dos. Some are rescheduling for next year, but for others they are taking the chance to take theirs online and hosting fantastic virtual Hen nights.

So here are some of our top tips for hosting the perfect Virtual Hen Do:

Gifting

A hen do is made to be a celebration of the Bride, to be everything about her life so far, and for her to feel a little pampered and spoilt. So take this as a chance to buy them a personalised gift, we do gorgeous Bride to Be gift sets including personalised nighties and PJs along with our fantastic dressing gown range available in 40+colours

Get them in the mood

Don't forget to tease their virtual hen do- Brides are not supposed to know what is happening so send little gifts like personalised Hen Do sashes to get them in the mood and other hints and tips as to activities that you may get up to but remember to try to keep as many of them as possible as a surprise. Even send invites online to formally invite the Hen Do team to the party - there are so many gorgeous stationers out there who can create digital download files for you to email over.

Finding the right platform

Find the perfect host location- be that Zoom or House Party which also includes additional ice breaker games. Make sure you give the Hens a trail run first using the platform so that on the day there are no hiccups or late joiners to the party! Then on the day get someone else in the house to help the bride to be to log in, so that when they join it all goes smoothly.

Make it personal

Quizzes and challenges focused on the bride and groom are always wonderful but even more so if you can find a way of using all of the hen party to come up with the questions and answers, especially if it include humorous anecdotes of things they may have got up to together. It makes it feel really well thought through and so personal.

Creating the activities and atmosphere

If the original plan was for cocktail making or anything drink related then that can easily be taken online with fantastic virtual mocktail and cocktail making activities. Share recipes in advance and even use some of the great letterbox gift cocktail making sets to send out to the Hens in advance. We love this set from Taste Cocktails- a fantastic fellow partner on @notonthehighstreet.

Don't forget the music, whilst everyone is joining in activities play a virtual playlist on Spotify so everyone can join in on the same and ask beforehand everyone's suggestion for the list, and if that cocktail making goes well and the music is good enough who knows next step may be a virtual dance lesson, or even just a dance along. Ever had a dance around your kitchen with a glass of wine in your hand? Well imagine that just with your lovely friends doing it too ;)

Maybe something a little quieter...

If raving in the kitchen isn't so much your thing then you could try cooking a meal together, plan the ingredients and prep as much as possible, share the cooking journey and then sit down to eat together. After all that eating cosying up on the sofa and watching a movie could be a great shout, choose a film as a collective group and all tune it together.

We have been so excited finding all these amazing things to make the hen do as perfect as possible that may even be trying a few of them just for general Friday nights (I may have ordered a couple of cocktail making kits just in case...).As this situation changes so rapidly it is important that we take this time to embrace our friends and do what we can to stay connected and Hen Dos are the perfect opportunity.

We hope everyone is staying safe and well and finding the perfect opportunities to still celebrate in this crazy time.

Vicky & Tash xx
